Why did we have a wedding for only two?
We are not supporters of fuss and big weddings with a huge list of traditions, signs and rituals. We didn’t want to do everything “like everyone else.” Besides, we are quite practical people. Realizing the scale of preparation for a magnificent celebration, we abandoned this wedding format. Choosing between pleasing someone and making the holiday the way we want it to be, we chose the latter.
Our preparation took no more than a month. Fortunately, at that moment I understood what I wanted and what professionals I planned to use. We were completely relaxed, not nervous and had complete trust in the contractors involved. However, there were also difficulties: for example, it was not easy to assemble a suit for the groom. But we dealt with this quite quickly and quite successfully.

Why did we shoot on a separate day?
Our wedding photo shoot was a bit of a deception: the painting at the registry office took place on July 29, but we organized the shooting in early September. There were many reasons for this. Firstly, we are working people, and it is quite difficult for us to find time for a walk in the summer.
Secondly, in Crimea in the summer there is incredible heat, at +35 in a dress and with makeup it is physically difficult to just walk, not to mention climb a mountain. And thirdly, we submitted an application to the registry office in the summer, at the height of the wedding season, so in order to increase the chances of getting exactly the professionals I wanted, it made sense to push back the date of the walk. We made no mistake in our choice.

Features of a wedding in the mountains
Before making a choice in favor of such an unusual ceremony, you need to decide on the location for it and clarify all the questions of interest. Along with many advantages, a wedding in the mountains has some limitations, namely:
- Weather conditions can be quite extreme - sometimes the newlyweds face sudden changes in temperature, frost and gusty winds. It is necessary to carefully select a wardrobe for each occasion.
- The budget for organizing a celebration is quite high, especially if you are planning a symbolic or traditional wedding abroad.
- Most often, such events are not designed for a large number of participants. In addition, elderly people and guests with certain diseases will find it difficult to stay in thin mountain air.
However, all the shortcomings are more than compensated by the almost unlimited possibilities, because in the mountains you can ride a helicopter, a cable car and even a deer ride. And the breathtaking views of nature cannot be compared with boring city landscapes.

- musical accompaniment and acoustics.
You also need to consider transportation for guests, whether it will be convenient to get to the ceremony location. It is necessary to clearly allocate time.
Wedding concepts can be very diverse. It all depends on the couple’s imagination. This could be a photo shoot in a magical forest or a vintage holiday, fun festivities in compliance with ancient traditions, or simply an exquisitely decorated place without being tied to a particular style.

Holding a wedding outside the city is especially popular among residents of large cities and metropolises - fresh air, closeness to nature, a basic change of scenery: the holiday will certainly turn out to be bright and memorable.

This depends on the category of the country cottage, the number of guests, and the planned events. A wedding at a dacha in a nearby village can significantly save the wedding budget: you can decorate the room yourself, and traditional Russian pickles prepared with your own hands will only decorate the festive table. In Russia, organizing a wedding is not difficult. You yourself and the wedding salons are able to negotiate with all the restaurants, hire a photographer, a registry office employee, and organize leisure time. In another country, all this, of course, is more complicated. An unfamiliar language can become a hindrance for you, and wedding salons that speak the language realize their advantage and inflate their prices. They understand that in a sense, without their help from you, they have no chance of organizing everything at the best level. And indeed, without outside help, it is difficult to organize a wedding in another country yourself.
Preparations for our wedding in Sochi
We always liked the idea of going to the seaside and getting married, taking with us only a photographer, a wedding dress and a suit. If we had been asked 10 years ago how we envisioned this day, the answer would have been unanimous - a wedding for two in a sunny city by the sea. And it’s great that we were able to do this!
My professional activity is directly related to the wedding industry, so I wanted to relax as much as possible and take a break from the hustle and bustle. We abandoned any decor, why try to create a fairy-tale environment if we are planning a wedding in Sochi - such a beautiful place. We wanted everything to be natural, simple and beautiful!
All preparation took place in self-isolation. And even though it’s a wedding for two, organizing an event in another city is always difficult, so we decided to contact a well-known wedding agency. Surprisingly, we were faced with a clear imposition of unnecessary services. We were convinced that without on-site registration we would not experience all the delights of the day. They imposed only certain specialists, arguing that if our photographer was not theirs, they would not see good content. It’s strange to realize that your wedding should become part of good content for someone, and not the main holiday in your life. In the end, we decided to leave the organizers because there was enough information on Instagram and wedding blogs to prepare.
I also ordered my wedding dress online, who would have thought that I would decide to do this. I had the same love with a dress from another country, and due to the closure of borders during the pandemic, the trip planned there was cancelled. But this didn’t stop me - important questions, measurements and consultations were done via video link. A month later, my dream dress was delivered to me!
At the time of agreeing on the size, it turned out that I had gained weight during quarantine, so I had to adjust not the dress to fit myself, but myself to the dress, as in the movie “Bride Wars”. Proper nutrition and quarantine are not very compatible, but Sasha and I managed. He kept me company to make it easier.
