Civil registry office and MFC departments

To obtain a stamp death certificate and a certificate in form No. 33 to receive social benefits for burial, you must contact the civil registry office or a multifunctional center that registers death.

State registration of death is carried out by the civil registry office (registry office) or the multifunctional center (MFC) at the last place of residence of the deceased, the place of death, the place where the body of the deceased was found or at the location of the organization that issued the death document.

To obtain a stamp death certificate and certificate No. 33, you must provide the following documents:

deceased's passport,
medical death certificate (issued at the morgue),
applicant's passport.

The original stamp death certificate is issued free of charge.

A stamped death certificate can be obtained both by the relatives of the deceased and by a funeral service employee (ritual agent). In this case, the funeral agent is the official representative of the relatives in the registry office.

The main nuances of the work of the civil registry office system in Russia

Civil registry offices are government institutions that are not subject to the rules of general labor regulations, where the working week is considered to be days from Monday to Friday inclusive, and Saturday and Sunday are considered days off.

This is due to the fact that registry offices organize the solemn registration of marriage, the right to which is granted to couples under Part 5 of Art. 27 Federal Law “On acts of civil status”.

Traditionally, such an event takes place on Friday and Saturday, so these days are considered working days at registration institutions. At the same time, we must not forget that, according to the requirements of labor legislation, an employee has the right to a 40-hour work week. It is easy to assume that since Saturday is a working day in an institution, then at least 1 day a week will be a day off for employees.

As a rule, this is Sunday and Monday, but newlyweds should check more precise information directly with the institution where the couple plans to get married.

Working day at the registry office = day for submitting applications?
Knowing only the general schedule for the reception of citizens at the department, it is easy to get into trouble with submitting an application. After all, the rules of the VTR of a particular institution usually set aside days when you can apply for marriage registration.

For example, in the Chertanovsky registry office of the city of Moscow, applications are accepted throughout the working week (Tuesday-Friday inclusive), and on Saturday they only carry out ceremonial registrations, and in the City Wedding Palace of Tula, documents can be submitted on all days except Sunday, Monday (weekends ) and Thursday (the day employees work with documents).

In addition, sanitary days are organized monthly in the registry offices. Typically, such unloading occurs at the end of the month, when employees create civil registration books and reports.

The Archive and Information Department (United Civil Registry Office Archive) is the largest repository of second copies of records of acts of registration of births and deaths, marriages and divorces, paternity establishment, adoption, and name changes compiled by the Moscow Civil Registry Office. The chronological scope of the stored documents covers the period from 1918 to the present. The funds of the united archive contain more than 130 thousand volumes, which include more than 25 million civil status records alone. Time and social upheavals have left their mark on these documents. Many of them bear visible traces of being evacuated.
