Preparing the nail plate
Before you start a dragonfly manicure, you need to prepare your nails:
- make a hand bath with sea salt and essential oils that will soften the skin and strengthen the nail plate;
- trim cuticles and hangnails;
- give nails the desired shape;
- level the surface using a polishing block;
- degrease the working part.

Mysterious Egypt (nail design ideas)

Ancient writing
Perhaps none of the writing methods known on earth can compare with Egyptian hieroglyphs. Figures of people, animals, birds, insects and objects turn ancient inscriptions into a real work of art, which, moreover, can tell about the life of the Egyptians, their way of life and customs. On various frescoes in the tombs you can see working peasants, fierce battles of warriors on the water, or images of pharaohs. Temples were decorated with two types of scenes and inscriptions. In some, the pharaoh defeats the enemies of Egypt, in others he is depicted during a sacrifice. Kings were revered as gods, but their figures were drawn somewhat smaller in size.
Hieroglyphs were carved on stone, widely used in ceramics, and written on papyrus - paper made from the fibrous stem of the papyrus plant, which belongs to the sedge family. Examples of surviving writing are scrolls of illustrated papyrus known as the Book of the Dead. Such scrolls were usually found next to royal mummies. In Fig. 1 (a, b, c, d) depicts four guards - the sons of Horus (patron of kings), accompanying their master through the afterlife. Hieroglyphs can be read from left to right, right to left, or in columns from top to bottom and bottom to top. The direction in which the text is located is indicated by the rotation of the heads of the animals and birds depicted on the hieroglyphs.
Beauty Nefertiti
Noteworthy is the series of designs executed on a marble background in combination with Egyptian writing (Fig. 3a), as well as the most famous temple of Seti I in Egypt (Fig. 33). In Fig. 3g depicts Thutmose III, the ruler of the New Kingdom, when Egypt was the most powerful in the world. In the workshop of the sculptor Thutmose, many portraits of members of the reigning dynasty were found.
The most famous is the legendary bust of Nefertiti, wife of Amenhotep IV (Fig. 3b). To draw such a perfect face of the queen, the master must know exactly the proportions of the drawing of a person’s head, the sequence of work, and have fine drawing skills. This knowledge can be obtained in specialized nail art studios. Then creating designs will not be hard work, but a pleasant and exciting experience for the master.
Sphinx and pyramids
The ancestor of all pyramids is the stepped tomb of King Jozer (Fig. 4a). It was from here that the history of majestic Egyptian architecture, stunning in its power, began. Not far from Cairo, three giant pyramids rise on the plain - Cheops, Khafre and Mikerin. The Cheops pyramid once reached a height of 146 m and was polished to a mirror shine. It is assumed that these structures served people as clocks and calendars, as they were built in accordance with mathematical and astronomical laws. The sides, located at an angle of 52° to the base, allowed the pyramid to reflect the sun's rays far into the sea and therefore served as lighthouses (Fig. 46, c). The mysterious figure of the sphinx - half-man, half-lion - was erected during the time of Pharaoh Khafre (Fig. 4-e). As a rule, the sphinxes contained inscriptions dedicated to the Egyptian pharaohs.
Egyptian fantasy
Knowing the design of an ancient font, you can create many beautiful abstractions. Elements such as the scarab beetle, snake or all-seeing eye can serve as the basis for designs based on Egyptian fantasy (Fig. 5). The ornament made from the papyrus plant looks original (Figure 6-a, c).
It is noteworthy that the choice of colors here can be very diverse. For example, the contrast of blue and gold always symbolizes the sky and sand. In Fig. 7, the color scheme helps to feel the heat of the scorching desert sun. Undoubtedly, different technologies have their own perception. The convex mask of the chariot master named Yuya, made with acrylics (Fig. 8a), seems to have just been cast from gold. And it is simply impossible to take your eyes off the young and graceful figure of the Egyptian woman (Fig. 9).
