- Wedding photo shoot in the studio: review of the best venues
January 10, 202111679
Most brides and grooms want to celebrate the holiday in the warm season, because in the summer there are more variations for the wedding banquet, theme of the celebration, registration locations, daylight hours last longer and there is a greater choice of places for a wedding walk.
I agree that when planning a wedding, especially in the warm season, the bride and groom most often imagine a walk in some picturesque location, but, as mentioned above, the weather increasingly brings surprises.
Reasonable questions arise: “What to do if it is predicted to rain on your wedding day? Cold or extreme heat?”, yes, yes, after all, in 35 degree heat, walking down the street in a wedding dress is such a pleasure. As you understand, the advantages of wedding photography in a studio are difficult to overestimate.
If you are now looking for a wedding photographer, you can view my portfolio and get answers to popular questions about photography on the page
How to conduct a wedding photo shoot in a studio - tips
The newlyweds first of all want to leave photographs as a souvenir of their happy wedding day.
Most often, a professional photographer is hired for this purpose, who does reportage photography throughout the day. But a wedding photo shoot in a studio for newlyweds is more the exception than the rule, although it has a lot of advantages. Proper lighting, beautiful and original surroundings, independence from the vagaries of the weather are only a small part of the advantages of the studio option.
Photo studio for a wedding photo shoot: how to choose?
Photo studios are usually in greatest demand during the cold season. However, the choice of studio wedding photography, regardless of the season, is always a plus for newlyweds. Let's find out why.
Advantages of studio shooting
A wedding photo shoot in a studio for newlyweds is rightfully considered the most convenient, because its main advantages are:
- Comfort. You can put on wedding dresses right in the studio and touch up your makeup or hairstyle there. You will not be disturbed or embarrassed by passers-by, and sudden rain, wind or snow will not affect your appearance. Agree, it is more convenient for a bride to have a photo shoot in a wedding dress in a studio than on the street, wandering around the city.
- Photo quality. The photo studio has ideal lighting and background, as well as a well-chosen interior for a wedding photo shoot. The photographer knows the best angles and has all the necessary props and equipment at hand to create great photographs.
- Save time. Wedding photography in a studio takes much less time than driving around the city in search of attractions. In addition, constant travel is exhausting, so often after a difficult shoot the newlyweds no longer have the strength to enjoy their own celebration.
Important: wedding photos in the studio usually do not involve the presence of a large number of people, so you definitely shouldn’t count on group shots. However, to obtain varied and high-quality shots, you can order studio photography for the newlyweds and continue the photo session with guests outdoors or in the banquet hall.
How to prepare for a studio photo shoot
In order for the shooting process to be a pleasure, and for the photographs to turn out not only of high quality, but also filled with emotions and positivity, you need to approach the organization of a photo shoot correctly. Preparation in this case is not only about taking on the appropriate appearance. Here are the key points to pay attention to:
- Choose a good photographer. The concept of “good” in this case is subjective. Find out the contacts of several studios, chat with friends or people on forums, what opinion you have about each of them.
- Chat with the photographer, it is important that you do not dislike him, ask to see his portfolio. Find out what kind of scenery they can offer you. It is advisable that there be at least three options, then the photos will not turn out boring and monotonous. Tell us what you expect from the shoot and what you absolutely don’t like.
- If the wedding is going to be themed, then be sure to say so; perhaps the background will have to be brought into a more appropriate style.
- Find out about studio video opportunities if you're interested.
- Decide when the photo session will take place; it does not have to be the same day as the wedding; many people prefer to do it before or after the wedding date.
- Before the photo shoot, it is advisable for the bride to have her makeup done by a professional makeup artist, since studio work involves a lot of portrait shooting and close-ups. Don't forget about manicure.
- A few days before a planned photo shoot, you should not get carried away with a solarium, self-tanning, unusual procedures at a cosmetologist, or use new masks, creams, etc. The result may not be what you expected.
If the bride or groom wears thick glasses, consider whether they can be replaced with lenses or completely abandoned during the shoot.
How to photograph a dress for gloss
As you know, billions of dollars are spent on marketing these days. Sellers want to know how to present their product profitably. And even more so when it comes to wedding fashion. And here the main secret is that marketers are not selling a dress, but a dream and an image. Girls often do not buy the outfit itself; even the most beautiful and sophisticated dress can go unnoticed by anyone if it is not presented correctly. People want a fairy tale, a full-fledged image that resonates in the soul like a symphony.
So, when creating their images, professionals resort to the following tricks:
- A wedding dress requires volume. If you look at pictures of outfits in catalogs, you can see that they were all shot in palaces, mansions or castles. As a rule, such a location has a lot of free space, which creates solemnity and the illusion of a fairy tale. You can also use door, window openings, stairs or a mirror to obtain additional volume;

- Light background. Another trick to show off an outfit in the best light is to shoot it against a background of pastel colors. An excessively contrasting background can distort the shade of the dress or give the bride’s skin a grayish color. If the background is light, then the camera will be able to better convey small details and texture of the fabric;
- Details and decor. Decorative elements and floristry can create a unique image and emphasize the solemnity of the moment. A bouquet in the hands of the bride, or a composition on the dressing table will help create a delicate image. If you plan to remove your dress on a hanger, then take care of its appearance. The hanger should be light bed shades. It can be decorated with fabric with an interesting texture, or with the letters “wedding”;
- Light. In artificial lighting, a white outfit looks just perfect. But bright sunlight can play a cruel joke and give the fabric a yellowish tint.
Examples of a studio photo shoot of the bride and groom
A huge advantage of a studio photo shoot is that a professional works with the couple, who knows how to beautifully plant or position the newlyweds in order to get the desired shots.
In fact, in most amateur photos (and in many reportage ones), the newlyweds look constrained, they don’t know where to put their hands or how to take a position in relation to each other.
Of course, from several hundred frames it is then possible to select 10-20 successful ones, from which the album is formed, but still quality is preferable to quantity.
On a beautiful background
The background plays an important role; the judge can offer the couple something from the existing decorations, or specially organize something special for the appointed date that suits their idea of a photo shoot or wedding scenario.
For retro or rustic styles it can be an imitation of a wooden wall, for an informal wedding - a “wall” painted with graffiti, for a romantic wedding - a composition of flowers and balloons.
An individual approach may cost more than standard options, but such photographs will be especially pleasant to admire and show to friends.
With letters and words in the frame
An interesting technique is to give the newlyweds letters, numbers or words. Props can be made of foam, balloons, wood, PVC. Since you can’t expect a trick from nature in the form of rain or snow, they also use more delicate materials: flowers, paper pom-poms, cardboard.
The most favorite words among brides and grooms are love, happiness, family, their names, surnames, wedding date, both in Russian and in foreign languages. The size of the letters can be absolutely any: from a miniature composition to reaching the height of a person.
Large individual letters in a simple font look clearest in photographs. White ones can get lost against the background of the bride's dress.
Against the background of original furniture and interior
An exquisite piano, an antique gramophone, or a luxurious sofa? Or maybe a fireplace and a fluffy carpet, or animal skins?
Wedding dress photography ideas
We have already talked about the technical aspects of photography, but now let's discuss creating a beautiful image.
On hangers
Of course, the dress is just part of the look, and on the hanger it can look quite simple. But this photograph also has its own charm. It will also help in the future to evaluate the difference between just a dress and a finished image of a girl. In order for the photos to turn out beautiful and to be able to convey the emotions that the outfit symbolizes, it is necessary to think through the details.
- Location in the house. It is better to choose a door or window opening as a background. But don’t forget about what’s behind it. After all, the details that will surround your outfit can complete the image, or, on the contrary, distract from it. If outside the window there is a wonderful view of the industrial area or thermal power plant. It will be difficult to get a romantic and tender photo. In such cases, it is better to use cabinet doors or a chandelier if their design matches the image. You can also create the necessary surroundings using floral arrangements;
- Outdoor location. Another option for photographing the newlywed’s outfit is to hang it outdoors. A balcony decorated with flowerpots, a beautiful shady tree in the yard, a hedge. The main thing is that the surrounding nature must match the image and style of the dress. And also try to avoid direct sunlight and shadows from tree leaves;

- Little things. Don't forget about the little things: lacing, lace, rhinestones and beads, gloves, belt, veil. It is better to photograph small details and compositions separately. In a general photo they can merge into a single image. And I really want to remember and show others unique and close to my heart elements.
Pros of wedding photography in a studio
The main advantages of a photo shoot in the studio:
1. Independence from the vagaries of the weather
Typically, studios advise filming winter or autumn weddings. Few people mention summer weddings, although in summer there is also the possibility of a catch from the weather.
The first thing that comes to mind is, of course, rain. If you are prepared and take nice umbrellas with you, then a small blind rain will not become a strong hindrance, but rather will even add some variety to the shooting. But if it starts pouring like buckets, then you won’t be able to take many good photos.
Heat poses a slightly lesser danger. Imagine: a wonderful sunny day, not a single cloud in the sky, the thermometer reaches +30 Celsius. The groom is dressed in a suit with a shirt and jacket, and the bride is wearing a fluffy dress and veil. Since traditional wedding dresses are often made from fairly thick, non-breathable fabrics, you are guaranteed at least envy of people walking around in shorts and T-shirts. Plus, no matter what super-resistant makeup your makeup artist does for you, the risk that it will “float” due to high temperature cannot be ruled out.
By choosing a studio as the main location for your wedding photo shoot, you can do more important things without being distracted by weather forecasters. There will be one less thing to worry about.
2. An ideal place for a wedding photo shoot
The second undoubted advantage is that a photo studio is a place designed specifically for filming. The lighting here is carefully thought out, and the right light is one of the secrets of good photography. In the studio, it will be easier for the wedding photographer to control the play of light. In addition, photography will not depend on the position of the sun in the sky. For example, in the summer from 11.00 to 15.00 are the worst hours for outdoor photography. This is the time when the sun is at its zenith and creates a lot of unnecessary shadows, making people look like pandas. In a good studio you can take photographs at any convenient time.
Specific midday shadows under the eyes make people look like pandas
3. Availability of a dressing room.
Most photo studios have make-up rooms where you can put yourself in order at any time. Some provide a dressing room free of charge when you book the studio for a certain number of hours.
4. Save time.
As a rule, outdoor shooting does not take place in the same place. For a variety of shots, 2-3 places are selected, and often they are located at a decent distance from each other. As a result, instead of taking beautiful photos, you spend useful time on the road (and even worse - in traffic jams!).
When shooting in a studio, all you have to do is arrive at the appointed time. Next, you will be busy only with photography. For variety, you can rent several halls with different interiors, and they will be located within a 2-3 minute walk from each other.
5. Psychological comfort.
If you are shy about filming and posing, in the studio you will be able to avoid the gaze of passers-by and you will feel more relaxed and free.
6. Convenient location.
The number of photo studios in Samara is growing every year, and choosing an option that will be convenient to your home, registry office or restaurant will not be difficult.
Wedding photo shoot in the studio: tips, pros and cons
Hello!
Today I want to talk to you about a wedding photo shoot in the studio. Yes, it happens that the weather is not pleasant, a storm warning is suddenly announced, there is frost, or maybe the newlyweds decide to get married in winter, when you won’t be able to walk outside for a long time.
This is where a photo studio comes to our aid.
There is no need to be afraid of photo studios when organizing a wedding photo shoot. Modern studios are well organized and decorated, many were even purposefully created with an emphasis on wedding photography.
In short, any whim for your money! This is especially true in Moscow, where you can certainly choose a studio to suit every taste - from delicate ones in light colors and without unnecessary decor, to bright, juicy or even black. Whoever likes what, because the wedding theme may also differ. Although I will immediately make a reservation that in most cases you will still have to hire a decorator and/or florist who will prepare a studio for your ideal wedding photo shoot.
Yes, be sure to pay attention to the amount of natural light. The more there is, the better. In general, we are looking for studios with a large window, or better yet, several of them, even to the floor!
But I got distracted.
Let's talk about the advantages of a studio photo shoot again. 1. You can plan your wedding for any day, regardless of the weather. 2. Constant access to the dressing room to fix your hair and makeup at any time. 3. The likelihood that you will get tired from a walk and get to the restaurant in a semi-conscious state with the desire to sit, eat and never move again is minimal. 4. The number of photo studios (this applies to Moscow) is huge, so it’s easy to choose a suitable option based on ease of movement, proximity to the registry office, restaurant, etc. 5. The photographer’s ability to control the light in a photo studio is higher, which means there is a greater chance of getting excellent photographs. 6. In winter, you will not have red noses, ears or other prominent parts of your body in your photographs. In addition, you will finally be able to take off your oversized down jacket or red fur coat, which does not look very harmonious with the image of the bride and groom, respectively, on such an important day. 7. Although I advise minimizing the number of participants in the motorcade during a wedding photo shoot, your guests will be more comfortable in the studio in the winter. 8. Comfort for a pregnant bride. There are no options here.
But there are no downsides either. 1. Limited space, variety. There is no escape - you are locked within four walls, which means that at the end you will get fewer photographs in principle, and their variety will not be great either. And no trees, grass or beautiful ocean coastline. On the other hand, if the photo shoot is short, this drawback is not so significant. 2. Additional financial costs. A good photo studio is expensive, and on weekends it’s even more expensive (or at least rented out for more hours). It is worth laying down at least 1200 rubles. per hour with a minimum rental of two hours. Well, if finances still allow you to hire a decorator, you will have to pay him too, perhaps even more than for renting a studio. Beauty requires sacrifice! 3. Still, the studio may not fit everyone, especially if you have more than 20 people traveling with you. So I advise you to make sure in advance that if you are nearby, it will be your closest relatives and friends.
These are the pies.
But let's take a look at which studios are worth paying attention to. Next is my personal top photo studios for a wedding photo shoot (it is important that the studios do not go in order from best to worst or vice versa): 1. Savemotions Studio, White Hall (metro Dmitrovskaya) 2. Cross-studio. Huge. A very, very large studio with a choice of rooms to suit every taste. But, I must admit, I rarely photograph there, as the interiors are boring and a little worn out. (metro Savelovskaya, as well as Moscow City and metro Elektrozavodskaya) 3. 8-bit (metro Belorusskaya, metro Savelovskaya), a good studio, with only one suitable room for a wedding photo shoot - 60px, very cozy. 4. Obscure Studio, Gamma Hall (metro station Elektrozavodskaya). An unusual option for a wedding, but I think it makes for good photos. 5. Another mastodon of wedding photography is White Studios. Huge selection of halls. I advise you to pay attention to royal-studio1 (metro Tretyakovskaya), loft-1905 (metro Street 1905 Goda). White studios are often the newlyweds’ choice, so it’s worth booking the halls in advance! 6. Studio London (metro Maryina Roshcha). Good, but only two halls, but both can be adjusted for wedding photography 7. Geppener Studio, Hall with Windows (metro station Alekseevskaya). A huge space will give you and your guests room to roam. 8. The Bridge (metro Kuznetsky Most). Three luxurious halls in the center of Moscow, what more could you dream of? 9. Zoom-Room (metro Dmitrovskaya), there is one suitable room - Mirage. 10. Famous studios (metro Novokuznetskaya, metro Paveletskaya). Very nice interiors, close to White Studios
I made it to the top 10, and that’s okay! Of course, this is not the entire list of studios available for filming a wedding in Moscow - there are hundreds of them, but I did not include some of the very popular ones on the list for one reason or another (excess props, artificial flowers, cheap-looking interior in general, excess vanilla) ! I will say this: a good photographer, having learned your tastes, will help you choose the ideal place to photograph your wedding, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s on the list or not!
Disadvantages of wedding photography in a studio
As you understand, you can’t do without minuses either. The main disadvantages of photo studios:
A good photo studio is not cheap. On weekends prices increase. Therefore, you need to be prepared for additional financial costs.
2. Limited number of people.
No matter how much you and your guests would like it, absolutely all relatives, including the fifth great-niece of your second cousin, will not fit in the studio. Therefore, group family photos most likely will not work - or for this you will have to look for a separate studio of the appropriate size. Usually newlyweds take a couple of their closest relatives or friends with them. It is better to check with the specific studio for the number of guests who can be invited to the shooting.
3. Not all studios are equally useful.
Not every photo studio is suitable for a wedding photo shoot. Be sure to check with your photographer before booking a studio.
We have figured out the pros and cons of photo studios, let's now look at examples of good studios for a photo shoot in Samara.
Features of preparing for a photo shoot in the studio
Here are some helpful tips to help you get the best wedding photos.
- It’s good if you practice posing at home and not be shy for the camera.
- It is better to choose a suitable day before or after the main celebration.
- Be prepared that the wedding photographer will work with you for at least 2-3 hours. Allow enough time.
- When choosing a photographer, take a good look at their portfolio and try to understand whether their vision matches yours.
- If the studio does not belong to the photographer, invite him in advance so that he can become thoroughly familiar with it.
- Prepare the necessary props yourself if they are not in the studio.
- Don’t hesitate to ask the photographer how you can look better, whether it’s worth adjusting your veil and hairstyle. This way you can get the best result.
And, perhaps, the last and most relevant advice is to be in a good mood.

Arguments in favor of studio shooting
There is a reason why studios are preferred over street photography. First of all, you automatically save yourself from headaches and worries about bad weather.
The studio is always clean and tidy : the bride does not have to worry about the dress - it will remain clean and undamaged. And in general, indoor conditions are much better suited for a wedding photo shoot. If desired, you can open or close the window, turn on the air conditioner or vice versa - the heater.

Among the main advantages of the studio are several:
- Comfortable conditions and atmosphere for shooting.
- Well-placed lighting and a prepared room with props.
- The photographer knows the place where he works ; understands advantageous poses and angles; can always offer interesting ideas for a wedding photo shoot in the studio.
- All photographic equipment is always at hand - it is unlikely that the photographer will forget the flash or portrait lens.
- The cost of studio shooting is usually cheaper than on-site shooting.
Points to pay attention to when choosing a photo studio
So, you have decided to have a wedding photo shoot in the studio. What should you pay attention to when renting a photo studio?
1. You need to carefully read the studio rules. Read them very carefully! So as not to spoil your mood later due to misunderstandings that could have been avoided.
2. You need to book the date and time for the photo shoot in advance. The more popular the studio, the earlier you need to book it. It is better to do this 2-3 months before the wedding date. In the case of “beautiful dates” 6-8 months in advance.
3. Don’t be late and be sure to take into account the time for preparing the scenery and equipment (if required), since the start of the studio rental is the stated time when booking. And the studio must be vacated 5-10 minutes before the end of the paid time. It is better to clarify this point in a specific studio.
4. Check to see if there are any restrictions on the number of guests you can bring with you to the studio shoot.
5. Take care of replacement shoes in advance. The bride and groom can make an exception, but again it is necessary to clarify in advance about the possibility of washing shoes on the spot or cleaning them with wet wipes. For guests, there may not be such an exception.
6. When choosing a studio, it is best to consult a photographer. He will suggest the best option based on your wishes and taking into account all the important nuances of photography.
Where to take photos
We will conduct a photo session “Morning of the Bride” anywhere:
- In the house. A great option when the bride spends the night at home - she doesn’t have to rush to the shoot. Just order a photographer to travel to Moscow.
- In the photo studio. Need chic interiors? Book a bride photo session in the studio. We have more than 50 interiors to choose from.
- At the hotel. There is no pre-wedding fuss at the hotel. This will emotionally relieve the bride and help her achieve relaxed facial expressions and posture. There is no need to prepare the room for photography - nothing unnecessary will get into the frame.
- Outdoors. Part of the photo shoot can be done outside, weather permitting. The more variety, the more interesting the photos are.
We advise you not to limit yourself to one location. We always carry out boudoir photography of the bride in the bedroom, in a hotel room or in an interior studio. But breakfast can be taken on the veranda, in the garden or in the gazebo. Changing the environment and background will fill your photos with dynamism and liveliness.
Ideas for a wedding photo shoot in a studio
Now about ideas for wedding photography in the studio.
Frankly, there aren't a lot of really cool ideas for shooting like this. The main meaning of the photo shoot and its main idea is your wedding and your feelings. Therefore, I don’t want to give advice on transforming into the next fairy-tale princesses and princes, mafiosi or characters from “Game of Thrones” with a huge number of attributes, props, and costumes. The essence of the event itself is lost and all this distracts from the main thing - you. It would be better if this was the topic of a separate photo shoot. Love story, for example.
It's a good idea to just take a few unusual shots to add variety to your shoot. Use props to add a personal touch to your photo shoot. Pay attention to:
• paper garlands with various inscriptions. It would be ideal if you match them to the tone of the studio interior;
• letters and inscriptions – there may be your names or initials, wedding date or just words related to this event;
• slates or wooden tablets. Again with thematic inscriptions;
• various attributes on sticks for a party - glasses, beards, hats, hearts, glasses, cakes and so on.
The studio is a great place to film the bride’s beautiful morning and the groom getting ready. In the studio, all the main components of beautiful photography - lighting, cozy atmosphere and interior - are collected in one place.
A couple of final tips:
Tip #1. Think about the poses in advance. Yes, of course, the photographer will be able to give you recommendations on posing, but no one knows your best angles better than you. In addition, having thought through this moment in advance, you will feel less constrained in front of the camera.
Wedding photo shoot in the studio: TOP 4 undeniable advantages
All in one place
Together with the photographer and decorator, you can think through and organize a shoot with a specific scenario and style. In just a couple of hours, you will create a whole story that will be interesting to view years later. You don’t have to waste time moving, because the entire shooting can be done within one location.
Possibility to shoot on another day
When choosing a studio shoot, you can do it on a day other than your wedding day. This is very convenient, because you don’t have to worry about the schedule, dedicating the proper time to the photo shoot. And on the day of the ceremony and banquet, completely surrender to the holiday, enjoying every moment. In addition, when ordering the services of a photographer for two days, you can always count on pleasant bonuses.
Possibility of choosing the interior
A modern photo studio is far from a cramped room with a paper photon. You will be surprised at the number of different styles and interiors that venues can offer: from a spacious, bright room with a fireplace to a medieval castle or a Gothic cathedral. There are locations with huge panoramic windows, allowing you to shoot with natural light.
Convenience of location
Most of the popular interior photography studios are located in the city center on the territory of old factories and manufactories, which significantly saves travel time.
Ability to shoot in any weather
The choice of location for a photo shoot always depends on the time of year and weather conditions. In the studio you can shoot in a comfortable environment in any weather, creating stylish, high-quality photographs.
And many many others.
Also, do not miss useful material on the topic: How to choose a place for a wedding walk?
The industry itself does not stand still; now more and more interesting platforms are appearing. Today we will talk about popular studios for a wedding photo shoot in Moscow, which you should pay attention to when choosing an interior for shooting.
Wedding photography in Format loft studio
Tip #1: Choose comfortable shoes
This is a must-have for all brides - comfortable shoes on a walk are the key to a good mood and, therefore, good shots. First of all, I recommend that all my girls choose comfortable shoes: for a wedding walk, these are ballet flats or even sneakers.
Do you want beautiful dress shoes? No question - choose shoes and take a “change” of flats with you for a walk.
About 90% of my brides wear floor-length dresses, and their shoes are completely invisible underneath them, even boots. On the other hand, a wedding walk is 1.5-2 hours in the park.
Have you tried walking in heels on the grass? It's inconvenient, isn't it? It is much wiser to simply wear comfortable shoes for the duration of the walk. You don’t have to buy ballet flats or sneakers on purpose; you can change into old ones; as I wrote above, they won’t be visible under the dress. The main thing is to be comfortable.
Tip #2: Try to get enough sleep the night before your wedding
Yes, I know that many people find it difficult to sleep because of the pre-wedding jitters, but you need to sleep at least 5-6 hours, otherwise by the middle of the wedding day you will fall asleep on the move. In addition, a fresh complexion and a cheerful mood are always an advantage for a photo shoot.
If you need to resolve some issues with the site or decor the day before, don’t put it off until the evening, do it in the afternoon.
Under no circumstances should you have a bachelor or bachelorette party on the eve of your wedding - give yourself a break between these events. If you are planning a party dedicated to saying goodbye to single life, organize it a week before the celebration.
Rely on others, and look at the places for the photo shoot yourself
In this article, we tried to look at the most popular places for wedding photo shoots. And not only for wedding photo and video shooting, but in general where you can take beautiful shots. But we must take into account that we are all different. And what one person likes will not be interesting to another at all. Of course, you need to look at the photos and roughly evaluate the place for the photo shoot, but if you have never been there and are planning to go there for a wedding photo shoot, then we strongly advise you to see this place “live” before your wedding. You yourself will assess the situation on site, understand whether you like the atmosphere of this place and make sure that the park you want to come to on your wedding day is not dug up due to renovations. You can also always write or call us and find out all your questions about any place you have chosen. After all, we have been to each of them more than once))
And I would like to note that we do not like all the places for a wedding photo shoot in Moscow that we listed in this article equally. After all, all markers have different tastes and colors))

Tip #4: Do a hair and makeup rehearsal
We will talk about how to choose a stylist in a separate article, but here I will talk specifically about the importance of rehearsal. You should be 100% comfortable in your wedding look, because if the bride doesn’t like herself even at the getting ready, her mood for the whole day will be ruined. And of course, in this case, you won’t like the wedding photos either, because they will remind you of an unsuccessful image.
This is by no means a criticism against stylists, because the bride may simply not like herself in a particular look. This happens: when you think it will look good, but you try it on yourself, you don’t like it. You know, like with things in the store.
Image: poses, presentation and emphasis on detail
Wedding dresses are rarely sold remotely, so photographs should not sell the product, but the image and mood. Photographing wedding dresses, even for online stores, is always artistic, not technical.
For example, a wide open aperture, which gives the effect of a slight blur of the background, often blurs the lower part of the hem, train, and cuffs on the sleeves. This is acceptable to achieve the viewer's concentration on the central image. Individual parts can be photographed separately.
An interesting effect is produced by “backstage” in the style of “morning of the bride” and the like. This approach is relevant for expensive, sophisticated wedding dresses, which require either a large spread in a magazine or several photos in a catalog or on a website.
Ideal photos of wedding dresses are scattered across social networks: brides willingly share the most memorable images with their friends. That is why you should look for interesting ideas for future work on Instagram, on the websites of good online stores, and in thematic catalogs.
Tip #6: Turn off your phone during the photo shoot
During a photo shoot, it is better if you are relaxed and nothing distracts you from the process. On their wedding day, newlyweds receive a lot of calls and not only to congratulate them. Guests call to ask something, decorators call to coordinate, etc.
This greatly distracts the couple from the filming process, sometimes even makes them nervous, and besides, we waste time, and there is very little of it.
If a coordinator is present at the wedding, it’s good, let them call him directly on all organizational issues. If there is no coordinator, ask a responsible friend to be the coordinator for the duration of the walk.
From different angles
To convey the beauty of the dress, it is better to take pictures from different angles.
- Above. When positioned on top, the hem of the outfit looks good. Especially if it is decorated with lace or other decor. And also from this position you can successfully remove the train.
- From below. If the dress is on a hanger, then when you shoot it from below you can convey the airiness and lightness of the outfit. Here, your main assistant is light, which will shine through the fabrics and can highlight their structure. And it’s also good to highlight lace or embroidery;
- Back view. Most of the bride's outfits are a work of art, and each element is direct proof of this. And the back of the dress is a separate masterpiece. And since most photographs are taken from the front angle, taking a photo from the back is a must. To create a beautiful photo from this angle, it’s better to play with poses. Half-turned shots near a window or door look good. Soft light will allow you to convey the beauty of the fabric, and the location will create additional volume.
- Front. To get a good photo from this angle, you should think about the background. It should highlight the beauty of the outfit. And in order to convey the tenderness and sophistication of the dress, you can use additional elements. Compositions of flowers, vases decorated with sculpting or elegant designs. The main thing is that the decoration complements the image and does not distract from the dress. If the background doesn't do its job well enough, or distracts too much from the outfit itself, you can blur it out a little.
