There is room to roam - a wedding bouquet of chrysanthemums: we collect it with our own hands

In floristry, chrysanthemums are popular due to their appearance. Lush inflorescences make a wedding bouquet of chrysanthemums elegant and luxurious. The first garden varieties of the flower began to be grown in China, from where they came to Japan. For a long time, these plants were intended only for the imperial family and nobility.

But now these flowers are publicly available. The first flowers were yellow in color and were associated with the sun. To this day, golden varieties of chrysanthemum remain popular among gardeners. These are, for example, the varieties Orange, Rivalry and Zembla Yellow. Plants are cultivated in many countries. In China alone, more than 3,000 species of these flowers are known.

What does it symbolize

A wedding bouquet of chrysanthemums can be decorated in different ways. Hybrids come in a variety of colors and sizes. The bouquet successfully combines simple chrysanthemums with an open center and double inflorescences.

Flowers symbolize abundance, longevity and high status. In addition, the color of the plants matters:

  • white traditionally means purity (a bride's bouquet of white chrysanthemums is one of the most popular);
  • blue - tenderness;
  • pink - romance;
  • purple - individuality;
  • yellow - warm feelings.

Interesting! The flower is unpretentious and goes well with any flowers and greenery. Thanks to the variety of types of flowers, a bridal bouquet of chrysanthemums is suitable for both mature and young brides.

Who do they give chrysanthemums to?

The Ancient East is considered the birthplace of this flower. The plant from Japan has spread throughout the world. In different countries, chrysanthemums have a special meaning. For example, in Italy it is customary to give such flowers at funerals , since chrysanthemums are considered a symbol of suffering. However, in the rest of Europe, flowers carry an exclusively positive meaning . Women love chrysanthemums as much as roses.

Many people are interested in why yellow chrysanthemums are given as gifts. Translated, the name of this plant means “golden flower”. This nickname was received due to its yellowish-golden color. The meaning of a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums in itself has great meaning. It is customary to give such a composition at the moment of confession of feelings .

Bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums

Initially, the plant was only available in this color, but biologists gradually began to develop new varieties and species, so chrysanthemums are now available in any shade.

Flower shops have plants that are black, green or purple. But it is recommended to give such flowers to a woman with caution. More often, donors choose bouquets of red, white and pink buds. With this option, no one will make a mistake with the choice.

Bright bouquet of chrysanthemums

The uniqueness of this plant lies in the fact that even when trimmed it retains its attractive appearance.

Therefore, bouquets of chrysanthemums are given at any time of the year, even in cold winter.

If you wish, you can grow a chrysanthemum from a bouquet that was given as a gift at home.

Color palette

Breeders have learned to grow flowers of various colors - white, cream, yellow, green, orange, lilac. But the blue ones have not yet been released - a wedding bouquet with blue chrysanthemums is obtained by coloring the flowers after cutting.

If a wedding bouquet of white chrysanthemums and any other plain color is not suitable, pay attention to variegated options. Do you want to know what multi-colored chrysanthemum wedding bouquets usually look like? A photo will answer this question better:

Typically, buds of pastel color are chosen to compose the composition. They suit a classic wedding dress. Brides with a bright appearance often choose lilac and red shades of inflorescences.

It is important to adhere to a single color scheme:

  • dim lilac is combined with white and pale pink;
  • yellow or pink buds are selected for blue flowers;
  • orange, red and yellow represent a harmonious combination.

Next, greenery and other decorative elements are selected. For a summer wedding, the brightest flowers and bolder combinations are chosen. Chrysanthemums with an open middle are popular at this time. For a winter wedding, white spherical flowers with a closed middle are often chosen. Cotton, succulents, brunia, and dried flowers are added to this bouquet.

We save cut chrysanthemums so that they last longer in the vase

It is important to adhere to certain rules and carry out competent actions step by step so that the flowers remain fresh longer and stand in the vase as if they had just been cut.

Rules for choosing a place for a bouquet:

  • it should be cool, 20 degrees may already be critical;
  • cold does not mean drafts, flowers also want comfort and peace;
  • The sun's rays will interfere, they can lead to fading of the shades of the petals and accelerate fading.

You need to choose a bouquet without plans to grow it, that is, if you plan to have buds in the composition, take a branch with unopened flowers, they will not bloom when cut. And if you need fully opened ones, then you shouldn’t take the buds for the same reason.

And these tips will teach you how to keep your bouquet fresh longer:

  • when composing a bouquet, be sure to remove all lower leaves that will come into contact with water, otherwise they will rot and promote the development of bacteria;
  • make fresh cuts of the stems under running water and even split them at the bottom so that there is a larger surface for water absorption;
  • change the water every two days, again repeating the procedure from the previous point;
  • You can purchase special additives at garden stores that extend the life of cut flowers;
  • remove wilted individual flowers so as not to spoil the appearance, especially since there are varieties in which they change shade, and the entire composition may suffer;
  • if the whole bouquet begins to fade, then there is one interesting recipe for restoring it: take turns holding it for 5 minutes, first in hot, then in cold water, and then trim the ends and put it in a vase.

Not a single autumn flower can withstand as long as chrysanthemums stand in water, because we are talking about almost an entire month.

What colors does it go with?

Chrysanthemums are very diverse. You can combine large-flowered and medium-flowered varieties, large-flowered and small-flowered (Korean).

With curvy

Chrysanthemums, thanks to their double inflorescences, are combined with other similar flowers - spray rose, aster, eustoma, ranunculus, peony, peony rose. Pompom-like flowers are combined with ozothamnus. Froggy, a small-flowered green chrysanthemum that also looks interesting, can be a good addition.

With holly

Among the needle-shaped chrysanthemums, the most famous varieties are Etna, Champagne Splashes, and Anastasia Green. These inflorescences themselves are original enough to be included in mono-bouquets. However, these varieties are best combined with other plants.

For example, with exotic strelitzia, lilies and orchids, with Avangard rose, spathiphyllum, protea. A mono-bouquet is often framed by a fern. You can always soften the bouquet with any lush, round-shaped flowers. Bouquets of flowers with needle-shaped leaves are preferred by extravagant brides.

With gerberas

Gerberas are distinguished by a riot of colors. They are combined with flowers with an open middle - varieties Pink Chamomile, Handsome, Deliana. These varieties are similar to daisies. Handsome has an interesting color - lilac petals framed at the edges with white. The Tom Pierce variety, which has an interesting red-orange petal color, goes well with red and orange gerberas.

Interesting! Pay attention to mono-bouquets of daisies or gerberas. They also look very nice.

With daisies

Some varieties are almost indistinguishable in appearance from garden chamomile. The calyx of the flower looks good with lush bouquets. Therefore, a wedding bouquet of daisies and chrysanthemums (terry) is a successful union. The free space is filled with simple greenery or gypsophila. There are no special subtleties here.

With alstroemeria

Lily-like alstroemeria is combined with chrysanthemums and roses. In this case, you can also take bush types of flowers. It gives the image activity and cheerfulness. For an ivory-colored dress, the composition consists of cream roses, gypsophila, white and yellow Bran Ivory chrysanthemums and red alstroemeria in a porta bouquet. Other flower varieties are also suitable for this, for example, pale pink Avignon or cream Alec Bedser.

With the field

A wedding bouquet of spray chrysanthemums is well complemented by field plants. A bouquet of irises, alstroemeria, and ruscus looks amazing. This option is ideal for a rustic wedding.

Bright combinations of chrysanthemums with other flowers in a wedding bouquet

Chrysanthemum is quite “friendly” in relation to other types of flowers, therefore it combines harmoniously with them.

  • With gerberas. If you take single-headed options as a basis, then it is best to combine them with neat gerberas. These flowers complement each other perfectly.
  • With alstroemerias. To show your energy and cheerfulness, you can combine these flowers with alstroemerias. The set will be filled with good energy, while being visually pleasing to the eye.
  • With roses. The most successful option is a combination with a rose. You can choose these flowers in one color, or you can use contrasting shades. This option, as in the photo, will be a wonderful addition to the delicate image of a young bride.

Other fresh flowers

By combining gypsophila with chrysanthemums, you emphasize your modesty and elegance. This collection is suitable for creative and dreamy people.

Compatibility with irises is quite possible - blue or purple colors will perfectly dilute the main color. You can combine a variety of shades with each other.

If you want to preserve the inherent delicacy of flowers, then combine white with any other shade. If you want something brighter and more extraordinary, then you can combine different colors. For example, red and yellow, blue and pink, etc.

Bush representatives of chrysanthemums look great in hemispherical collections. You can also arrange a flower arrangement in a basket .

What decor to complement the composition

You can decorate a bride's wedding bouquet of chrysanthemums with your own hands using greenery and ornamental plants.

With Craspedia

Craspedia are spherical small plants similar to the heart of a chamomile. They are combined with spherical flowers, for example, with the Zembla yellow variety, with white Gazelle, with the chamomile-like varieties Abris and Nivea. Such bouquets emphasize simplicity and naturalness.

With clove Green Trick

The original shape of the green carnation adds splendor. Suitable for white and yellow chrysanthemums, added to red, lilac and pink flowers. In addition to the bouquet, succulents can be selected.

With hypericum

A monobouquet of bushes successfully complements hypericum (St. John's wort). Hypericum is combined with constellations of any color, for example, a good solution is a bouquet of scarlet St. John's wort berries and yellow and lilac chrysanthemums. This bouquet is not difficult to assemble, and despite its brevity, it looks quite impressive. White lush flowers are also combined with St. John's wort.

With a rose

The Queen of Flowers rarely tolerates rivals next to her, but chrysanthemums are one of the few exceptions. The optimal combination will be obtained if the flowers of one type are small and the other are large. Bright bush roses will emphasize the grace of large white inflorescences (needle and spherical forms are especially beautiful). And for large pink buds, you can choose small-flowered chrysanthemums in a contrasting shade.

Another idea is to create a voluminous bouquet of roses and chrysanthemums of the same size. In this case, it is better to take non-double autumn flowers with a dark or golden center.

How to choose a packaging form

Assembling a wedding bouquet of chrysanthemums with your own hands is half the battle. It also needs to be packaged beautifully. Chrysanthemums are universal flowers. They can be majestic and simple. Therefore, they create different images. A few final tips.

  • A bride's bouquet of spray chrysanthemums looks harmonious in a basket package.
  • In combination with gerberas, you get a bouquet for a wedding in a rustic style; in this case, packaging is not needed, it will be enough to tie the stems with thread.
  • For a delicate white and lilac bouquet, felt packaging is good.
  • Single-headed yellow or white chrysanthemums look good in classic packaging.
  • The heart-shaped bouquet is made up of scarlet roses and white bush plants.
  • The packaging of wildflowers can be as simple as possible, in soft green tones. Or just tape is enough.
  • The shape of the flower dictates the shape of the bouquet. Usually round and semicircular bouquets are made.
  • A bouquet of chrysanthemums, like any other wedding bouquet, can be decorated with pearls, decorative pins, pendants

How to keep flowers fresh for a long time

A bouquet of even the freshest plants will last a long time only if it is properly cared for. In order for the chrysanthemum composition to please the eye for as long as possible, the following conditions must be met:

  1. The vase should be spacious enough, all the stems should easily fit into its neck.
  2. It is advisable not to use water with a high chlorine content, as plants wither faster in such water.
  3. Before placing the composition in a vase, it is necessary to remove the lower leaves, trim and split the stem. This will allow the plant to better absorb moisture.
  4. The place where the vase will stand should be cool, but at the same time be away from drafts and direct sunlight.
  5. The water in the vase must be replaced every 2-3 days, while renewing the stem cut.
  6. If the bouquet has begun to fade, you can try to revive it using contrasting procedures. First place it in a container with hot water, after a few minutes transfer it to ice water, and then return it back to the vase with clean water at room temperature.

Graceful and beautiful chrysanthemums will be a wonderful gift for any occasion, regardless of the person’s age or gender, and they will last from several weeks to a month, reminding you of you for a long time.

Chrysanthemum is the most widespread plant on the continent. It came to us from China and Japan. Interestingly, the first images of it on Chinese porcelain were made 2500 years ago. According to legend, the cruel Chinese emperor learned about the chrysanthemum - a flower from which the elixir of immortality is prepared. But only a person with a pure soul and a kind heart could tear it down. The emperor sent many young people to the island to get a flower, but none of them returned. The emperor soon died, and the people on the island founded a new state - Japan. In Japan, a real cult of the chrysanthemum has been created, because it is considered a symbol of the country, although unofficial.

It is thanks to its diversity of species (there are about 10,000 varieties), colors and shapes that it has gained well-deserved popularity. Of all the flowers familiar to us, chrysanthemum is the most universal: it can be given for any occasion. These flowers don't just lift your spirits: they add vital energy. And the donor, presenting a bouquet of chrysanthemums, expresses the sincerity of his intentions.

Chrysanthemum is a noble flower. A wedding bouquet of chrysanthemums gives the bride’s outfit a special significance, emphasizing the solemnity of the moment. When creating a composition, florists combine flowers and decorative elements so that even after the bride is thrown, the bouquet retains its attractive appearance. It is believed that a composition of chrysanthemums brings happiness not only to its owner, but also to her chosen one.

Chrysanthemums can decorate any holiday. Many people associate yellow with separation, but this is a big misconception. Yellow is the color of the sun, a symbol of kindness and sincere relationships. They inspire and charm and always attract attention.

To correctly compose a bouquet, you must have extraordinary talent, because flowers can tell a lot about their owner. Each flower carries its own meaning, so by choosing a certain combination of flowers, you can not only give a person pleasant emotions, but also tell about your feelings.

Summary

A bride's wedding bouquet of chrysanthemums goes with any look. If you want to add tenderness to your wedding, choose muted colors of the inflorescences. If you like shocking, pay attention to rich colors, sharp plant petals, combinations with exotic flowers.
