The Kazan Kremlin is a unique complex of archaeological, historical and architectural monuments that arose and have been functioning since the foundation of the city in the 12th century. In 2000 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. On the territory of the Kremlin you can visit the ancient Annunciation Cathedral and the modern Kul-Sharif mosque.

How we looked for the best place for the city

But first, let's remember the ancient history of this majestic city. One of the many legends about the origin of Kazan tells about ancient times, when among ordinary people there lived people with abilities different from others: sorcerers, shamans, witches.

And so ordinary people had a need to build a city. But they could not come to a consensus on where to found the city. Some liked the place on the river bank, others - at the foot of the mountain... And then they decided to turn this question to the sorcerer. He really knows everything! And the wizard gave this advice: there should be hail where the water boils in a cauldron, simply dug into the ground.

For a long time people dug holes and tried to boil water without fire. The future residents of the future city searched and searched for such a place and finally found it! And without thinking twice, they named their settlement in honor of the Kazan, which helped them find a suitable place, located on the right bank of the Kazanka River.

Tower Syuyumbike

Its height is 58 meters. The tower is included in the list of forty leaning towers of the world, the deviation from the vertical is 2 meters. There are many legends associated with the tower, the most famous is about Queen Syuyumbik. According to legend, the tower was built in 7 days on the orders of Ivan the Terrible, who wished to take Syuyumbike as his wife. The queen, under the pretext of saying goodbye to her hometown, climbed to the top of the tower and threw herself off the seventh tier.

One of the spectacular modern attractions of the center of Kazan is the Palace of Farmers, built in 2010.

The monumental structure is called the Palace of Farmers because the office of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan is located here.

At night, the Palace is beautifully illuminated - this gives the building a mysterious appearance. The 20-meter bronze tree in the central part of the façade is illuminated with green lights imitating foliage.

History of construction and architectural features

was erected in 2012-2013 according to the original design of the architect and sculptor from Buryatia Dashi Balzhanovich Namdakov. The site for the new city registry office was an embankment site on a round peninsula. Construction took exactly 500 days.

The miracle building looks like a huge Asian cast cauldron above a high arched tagan. From time immemorial, such cauldrons have been used for preparing various dishes in all countries of Central Asia. According to the architect, the unusual building symbolizes the respectful attitude of the Tatar people to family and family values.

The Kazan center is very beautiful in the dark, when the bright evening lights turn on. Powerful spotlights illuminate the picturesque “cauldron” in different colors, creating the illusion that flames are burning under the cauldron. Spectacular lighting can be seen from different parts of Kazan.

You will not find such a structure in the world - the building is made in the shape of a huge cauldron resting on a white stone base.

There are three main halls in total. About a hundred ceremonies are held per day. The bowl of the Kazan registry office is topped with an open observation deck. At an altitude of 32 meters, there is a breathtaking view of the city.
